Cynthia Peters

Passionate about food and well-being, Cynthia is actively involved in a number of food related endeavors. She is the owner of From the Farm Enterprises Inc. and From the Farm Cooking School, located in a restored heritage farmhouse in Prince Edward County – Canada’s newest culinary destination. She is a food writer and “the County” correspondent for Gremolata, a leading food and wine consumer web site.

Cynthia is a member of The Canadian Personal Chef Alliance, Women’s Culinary Network, WXN and the Culinary Historians of Ontario. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Food Banks, is Vice-Chair/Treasurer of Slow Food in Prince Edward County and a board member of Taste the County. Cynthia is a committee member of the Food Security Network of Hastings & Prince Edward Counties, Advisory Committee for FoodShare and the Steering committee for the Social Venture Exchange in Toronto. She is an advocate for Food Security issues across the province and enjoys connecting rural/urban businesses, government, community organizations and consumers to create sustainable solutions to today’s food issues.

Prior to launching From the Farm, Cynthia co-owned a personal chef business in Toronto, The Spice Sisters, specializing in internationally inspired healthy cuisine. Cynthia is an honors graduate of Liaison College of Culinary Arts and holds certificates from Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa.

Cynthia’s former career was in Communications, Strategic Planning and Development. For more than 25 years, as a board volunteer and a senior executive, she helped numerous businesses and charities improve their image and bottom-line by providing innovative, enterprise-wide strategies for fund raising, revenue growth, corporate communications and brand awareness.
